This Sausage & Hashbrown Quiche is an easy and fun recipe to have kids help with in the kitchen!
Savings tip: When I find sausage on sale for $2.50 or less then I stock up and throw them in the freezer. Or better yet, I’ll go ahead and brown and crumble the sausage and then freeze it, so it’s ready to use in a delicious breakfast recipe like this Sausage and Hashbrown Quiche!
Whis-Kid Sausage & Hashbrown Quiche
Perfect for any meal of the day!
Servings - 8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust bottom crust only
- 1 cup frozen shredded hashbrown potatoes
- 3/4 cup sausage browned and crumbled
- 1/4 cup onions and green or red bell peppers diced
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 eggs
- 1-1/4 cup milk
- 4 Tbsp butter melted
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/8 tsp ground mustard optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a 9" pie plate or quiche dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet and drain.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, salt, pepper and ground mustard.
- Stir the shredded cheese and shredded hash brown potatoes into the egg mixture, then stir in the slightly cooled browned sausage.
- Pour everything into the pie pan and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the center of the quiche is set and doesn’t move when slightly shaken.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Serve Sausage & Hash Brown Quiche warm with favorite side dishes.
