Sheet Pan Chicken with Apples and Cabbage: A Sweet and Savory One-Pan Wonder
Sheet pan chicken with apples and cabbage is a deliciously simple meal that combines tender, roasted chicken bites with sweet apples and savory cabbage.
With minimal prep and just one pan, it’s a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors for a cozy weeknight dinner.
Because it’s important to get the cooking times even and correct when making a sheet pan dinner, I’ve cut these chicken into smaller bite size pieces…both to reduce the cooking time and also to increase the flavor…more marinade is coating the chicken!
The cabbage roasts quickly, so I needed to cut the chicken into 1/2-inch size pieces and the apples into fatter slices so that everything would cook evenly on the sheet pan.
And with that, let’s get to the recipe…
Sheet Pan Chicken with Apples and Cabbage
Ingredients
- 3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 3 Tbsp mustard
- 3 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 3 large apples cored and sliced
- 1 small green cabbage cored and cut into wedges
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, add the cut up chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper. Then toss with the mustard, maple, and vinegar - coating all of the pieces.
- Arrange the coated chicken pieces with the apple slices and cabbage pieces on the prepared baking dish into a single layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until chicken has cooked through and begins to golden.
- Serve Sheet Pan Chicken with Apple and Cabbage as is, or with side salad. Enjoy!
