Drop Biscuits with Maple Butter Compound
So easy and delicious!
Servings - 12 servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups white flour
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Tbsp butter cold
- 1 cup milk cold
Maple Butter Compound
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- MAPLE BUTTER COMPOUND: let butter soften on counter or small bowl. Once softened, use a fork, spoon, or small spatula to fold and mix in the maple syrup and the cinnamon. Once combined, transfer to a small piece of plastic wrap. Roll the butter up into the shape of a log and refrigerate. Once hardened, slice of butter and serve.
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In mixing bowl, combine white flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in 4 Tbsp of COLD butter with pastry blender or 2 knives.
- Slowly mix in COLD milk and stir with fork. Mix until thick batter forms.
- Drop biscuits onto greased cooking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Cool on cooling rack.
- Serve warm with Maple Butter Compound.
