I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dish! We happened to make this in a hotel and it worked out GREAT!!
My folks invited us to visit while they were traveling and staying in a hotel. I prepped this the night before we left- “battering” the chicken and tossing into a gallon bag into the freezer, shredding the cheese and tossing into a sandwich sized ziptop bag into the freezer. I also cooked two boxes of pasta- fun shapes for the kids and spaghetti for the adults. I tossed the pasta with a tad bit of olive oil to ensure the noodles didn’t stick terribly. Those went into 2 seperate ziptop bags in the fridge. In the morning, I tossed the ingredients into a cooler for our drive to the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel, I plugged in the crockpot, added the ingredients, and we enjoyed our day (playing in the hotel pool, etc). We came back to the hotel for dinner, microwaved the pasta (most hotel rooms have microwaves and they also have microwaves available from the front desk- along with plates and utensils), and topped with the delish! chicken parmesan!
We picked up a bagged salad from the nearby grocery store and for $10 for 8 people, we dined with delight. It was so much fun to have dinner in at a hotel. I would highly recommend it!

i read through the old comments but there didnt seem to be anything that would have made a difference. i tried it again thinking maybe it was the chicken i used or something but it was still gross i dont think i like the chicken juices cooked in spaghetti sauce.
one of my husbands all time fav meals though is her cream cheese chicken, also one of the easiest!
Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom says
@Lauren,
That could be…chicken with spaghetti sauce does make for a different flavor! We’ll have to try the cream cheese chicken! Mmm…
