I know how I’ll be using my empty paper towel holder from August 24th on…
(It’s empty because I don’t use many paper towels.)
Store all your cookie cutters on the paper towel rack, then set it out while you’re making sandwiches and let your kids choose which shape they want for their lunch. Or do it in secret and surprise them!
Fun! And smart!

Ohhh, such a great idea. And right up my alley for decorations…. has to be functional as well as pleasing to the eye. Now I just need to go get a paper towel holder, lol!!!!

Yes this is a great idea!! I would have never thought of that.

I did this ONCE with my 3-year old, and now if I ask whether he wants squares or triangles when I cut his sandwich, his response is, “STARS!” He’s totally hooked on fun shaped sandwiches. He even insists I cut mine the same way. Thanks for the storage tip, my drawer is looking cluttered, and I have a lovely paper towel holder that sits useless in the corner!

What do you do with the leftover outside of the sandwich? I can’t imagine just throwing it away!
Lisa Neubert says
That’s the part I eat…I make two sandwiches they get the cutouts (usually the size of half to 1/3 of sandwich) and I eat the “outside”. My daughter doesn’t like the crust anyway so it works out.

Thats a cute idea, but I would need about 25 holders!! 🙂

If you cut the bread out before adding the spreads, you can also save the scraps for home-made croutons or meatloaf. Plus then the cutters aren’t all messy!
Too bad this organization tip won’t work for me… I have SOOOOOOO many cutters. I group them by theme in gallon baggies with cardboard inserts so I can see them all side by side. I have 2 baskets full of these baggies! Maybe If I make some kind of dowel rack with multiple sticks to hang on the wall…

It’s a fun idea, but for all my cookie cutters, I think I’d need an army of paper towel holders. I love the idea of letting the kids pick the shape of their sandwich for the day. Cute!

I have a lot of cookie cutters also. Did you come up with a good idea for storaing them or displaying them?
