Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes
Savor the rich, bold flavors of these Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes—a delicious twist on the classic comfort food.
Servings - 8 sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 15 oz. can sloppy joe sauce
- 8 slices Texas garlic toast
- 8 slices smoky provolone cheese
- salad or veggies side dish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with foil or silicone baking mat.
- Place the Texas toast on the baking sheet and place in the oven for 10 minutes, while the ground beef is cooking.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and drain if necessary. Add the sloppy joe sauce to the browned ground beef and stir to combine.
- Remove the toast from the oven, then divide the sloppy joe sauce onto each of the pieces of toast. Place a slice of smoky Provolone cheese over the sloppy joe meat. Return to the oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
- Serve Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes with your favorite veggie or salad side dish. Enjoy!
