This is a great sauce – I mixed it up, poured it over a beef roast, and let the slow cooker take care of the rest.
Time to prep slow cooker: 2 minutes.
Served with some baked sweet potatoes.
Time to prep potatoes to bake: 2 minutes.
And some steamed green beans from the garden (they keep coming and coming and coming…)
Time to prep: 5 minutes.
Seriously, a very hands off meal to prepare! Just needs time in the slow cooker and in the oven!
(Oh, and the other half of the beef roast went into the freezer!)

I tried this with chicken after you posted your menu earlier in the week. My husband LOVED it. I shredded it and served it over brown rice. I’ll making it again soon.

I’m a newbie to your site. Everything looks GREAT! Food and costs. I was just wondering about the roasts you buy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 1-2 lb. roast. I usually buy about a 4 lb. roast. ALSO! How in the world do you feed your whole family on such a small amount of meat? I haven’t tried any of your recipes YET but am excited to try them. I live in Louisiana and the prices are much higher than your area. I can sometimes get rolls of ground beef for $1.79 per 1 lb. roll. The roast I bought is a rump roast beef for $1.77 per lb. Also, our newspapers don’t put coupons because we’re in such a small area. I will have to rely on the on-line coupons. Hope to find a bunch I can use. Wish me luck!

@karen,
Welcome! We usually eat about 1 lb. of meat/chicken at each meal, sometimes more or less, depending on the meal. It’s what we need/eat for now! Every now and then I’ll get a smaller roast…if not, I’ll use a 3-4 lb. roast and split it up into 2 meals. Just keep those eyes peeled for the best prices in your area!!!

How long do you keep the beef in the crockpot? 6-8 hours on low?
