Asian Chicken Wraps with Steamed Snap Peas
Ingredients
- 4 burrito size flour tortillas
- 3 chicken breasts
- Teriyaki Sauce or Marinade
- 1-2 Tbsp tahini
- 1/4 cup peanuts, finely chopped
- 1/2 bag baby carrots
- Handful romaine lettuce
- 1 bag Snap peas
Instructions
- Combine teriyaki sauce/marinade with tahini.
- In skillet, add sauce mixture and chicken. Saute chicken about 5 minutes on each side until cooked through (Cooking times will vary depending on thickness of the chicken).
- Once chicken is cooked, slice it into strips.
- Shred carrots (I used baby carrots because that's what I had... "an adult" carrot will work just fine too 🙂
- Rinse and pat dry the snap peas. Place them in a saucepan with about 1/2 inch of water. Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Season steamed snap peas with a pinch or two of salt.
- Assemble wrap by adding chicken, shredded carrots, lettuce, peanuts in the tortilla. Serve with side of steamed snap peas.

we’ve done a couple here. I like the pizza wrap….mozzarella, pizza sauce, and your favorite pizza toppings. zap for 30-40 seconds in microwave until hot.
greek chicken salad wrap. lettuce, tomatoes, feta, black olives, red onion, peppers and grilled chicken with an oregano vinaigrette.

I make a bacon, spinach, tomato wrap…with a little bit of cheddar. So very yum. To make it GF, wrap everything up in the spinach leaves instead of wrapping it in the wrap!
I can’t wait to try this one!!

Sounds yummy. I need to do more wraps, it’s something I tend to forget for some reason.

I use leftover pork roast (recipe in the crockpot with 8 oz of tom. sauce, 1/2 c. soy sauce and 1/4 c sugar) and mix with a bit of ground ginger, pull the meat apart and wrap in lettuce leaves with some water chestnuts, shredded carrots, etc. I made this for a “dinner date in” with my hubby and added some white rice. He loved it!

These sound so good!! I will have to fix these. We like to have bacon, chicken ranch wraps. I take chicken breasts & slice them, put a slice of swiss or provolone cheese, bacon & ranch dressing. Add lettuce, or onions & tomatoes also. They are very good!!

We like cheesesteak wraps made with lean beef (leftover roast works very well) and raw shredded broccoli and carrots. That with a side salad costs us just a couple of bucks and is very tasty and nutritious. When my kids were young they liked peanut butter and fruit wraps. I’d spread a little peanut butter on a homemade tortilla and toss in a hand full of diced apple or pear, a few raisins and some raw sunflowers or almonds. The kids ate them up and never said no to those. 🙂

You can easily get this under $5 by making your own tortillas. They don’t take much time and taste SOO good! (They also freeze well ;))
* 4 cups flour
* 2 tsp. salt
* 1 stick butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups water
Mix all ingredients. Form into golf ball size balls. Roll out flat into a circle. Cook on each side in a dry non-stick pan until starting to brown.
We use whole wheat flour around here!

My favorite wrap would be whole wheat tortilla, red leaf lettuce, light mayo, turkey and avacdo… you could call it Californian, it’s also great with alfafa sprouts!
I also love hummus with assorted roasted veggies. Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil drizzeled with balsamic vinagrette. Chicken fajita wrap. And I second the greek wrap above, sounds divine!

These Asian Turkey wraps are my absolute favorite: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/ASIAN-TURKEY-LETTUCE-WRAPS-106963
I leave out the hoisin sauce, and I use my homemade peanut sauce instead of store-bought.

Don’t you just love the Kroger Managers Special?? I can’t even tell you the deals I’ve gotten there, espeically in produce. My Kroger regularly has “almost expired” bread and buns for 25 – 40 cents per loaf/package. That’s better than I can get at the discount bread store.

My favorite wrap is a chicken philly wrap. It’s so simple. Take any kind of wrap (we use whole wheat) and put grilled onions and peppers along with grilled chicken. Spread thousand island dressing onto wrap and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. So good!

I like a vegitarian burrito wrap – mix one can of corn, once can of black beans, and one can of rotel or diced tomatoes, spoon into tortillas and top with shredded cheese, wrap top with a little more cheese if desired and bake in oven at 425 for about 10 min.

Erin,
When it says Manager’s Special it means that the product will or has expired in a few days. I bought a manager’s special once and that it got all molded in a few days.
April says
We made these last night and they were awesome, and the perfect amount of carbs for my diabetic daughter.
They were so good that I had the leftovers for lunch today!
Amanda says
@Jennifer Higgins, I don’t usually have good luck with Kroger’s produce. Once, I actually picked out some apples right after I watched them get stocked, thinking they looked great of course. When I brought them home and started to slice them everyone of them was completely rotten on the inside. I have better luck with produce from Meijer or Walmart.
