Tonight I made Potato, Egg and Cheese Tacos at my MIL (mom-in-law)’s house. We are still without power, and will likely not get it back until the weekend.
Because I bought 13 lb of Roma tomatoes ($.65/lb!!!) on Sunday just before the windstorm hit, I am planning on bringing over all my appliances and items to my MIL’s house to make spaghetti sauce and salsa verde! I will get the photos and recipes posted as soon as I can.
Tomorrow night…Homemade Sloppy Joes on Homemade Buns…as promised! I won’t let any power outage stop me!!!
Look for a new “look” to the blog…it’s getting a makeover soon!
Stop Happy to Be at Home, for all the details from the $5 Dinners MIL’s Kitchen!!!

What a great blog you have (I found you through Blogher)! I quite often struggle with the cost of food and am always looking for cheap alternatives and tips. 🙂 What yummy recipes too! 🙂

I am just loving your week at Happy To Be At Home. I’m sorry you’re without power though.

I m so gonna try this! As a side note, when I was reading this I was like “wait, the wind storm in 2008?” and then I realized that you are in the Dayton area! LOL I live in Beavercreek. We weren’t turned on until day 9, and since we are in a well water community, we too had to stay with relatives! Small World, huh?!
